Turn degraded land into a long-term income and a standing forest
This page is for landowners, provincial bodies, and organisations in Punjab holding degraded land, particularly in the Chakwal and Rajanpur districts. It explains how a partnership works and what we ask of a site. An Urdu version is in preparation.
How a partnership works
Long-term lease. You keep ownership. We lease the land for the crediting period, plant and manage the forest, and pay lease income on a fixed schedule. This is the model we expect to use most.
Revenue share. Instead of, or alongside, a fixed lease payment, you receive a share of credit revenue as it is issued. Higher potential return, later and less certain.
Sale. For partners who prefer a one-time transaction, we purchase the land outright at an agreed price.
In every case tenure is documented and verified before a single tree is planted, because the carbon standard and every buyer require it, and because it protects you as much as us.
What you receive
Beyond the payment itself.
Predictable income
Lease payments on a fixed schedule for the term of the agreement, or a documented share of credit revenue, or both.
Local employment
Planting, maintenance, and monitoring work goes to local crews first. Land partners can nominate workers.
Restored land
At the end of the agreement you hold established native forest with improved soil, not the degraded parcel you started with.
A professional counterparty
A registered Pakistani company, a written agreement, and a project run to an international standard with independent audits.
The process
- Initial conversation. You tell us where the land is, roughly how large, and its current condition. We tell you whether it could fit.
- Site visit. Our team visits, walks the boundary, and assesses soil, vegetation, water, and access.
- Tenure check. We review the title or lease records with you. Nothing proceeds without documented tenure.
- Terms. We agree lease, revenue share, or sale terms in a written agreement, in Urdu and English.
- Planting. Site preparation and planting, timed to the season, with local crews.
- Ongoing. Payments on schedule, regular updates, and a standing invitation to see the monitoring data for your land.
Land partner questions
Do I lose my land?
Under a lease, no. You remain the owner and the land returns to you with the forest on it at the end of the term. Only a sale transfers ownership, and only if you choose it.
How long is the lease?
Carbon projects need long commitments because trees take decades to store carbon. Expect a term of thirty years or more, with payment terms that reflect that length.
Can I still graze animals on the land?
Not during the establishment years, when seedlings are vulnerable. Managed grazing may be possible later and is agreed site by site.
What if the trees die?
That is our risk, not yours. Replanting and maintenance are our responsibility under the agreement, and your lease income does not depend on survival rates.
Is my land too small?
The pilot needs about 50 contiguous hectares. Later phases can group smaller neighbouring parcels. Tell us what you have and we will say honestly whether it fits.
Partner your land
Tell us where the land is and how large it is. We will reply and, if it could fit, arrange a visit.
