A Pakistani developer building carbon removal to an international standard
Pakistan Carbon Reserve restores degraded land with native forest and takes the resulting carbon removal through independent verification. We are at the beginning: incorporated in September 2026, with a 50-hectare pilot in Punjab in feasibility. This page sets out who we are, who is behind the company, and how we intend to be checked.
Who we are
Pakistan Carbon Reserve (Private) Limited is a Pakistani company that develops nature-based carbon removal projects on degraded land, starting with a 50-hectare native-species afforestation pilot in Punjab and designed to scale past 5,000 hectares across additional sites.
We are a project developer, not a broker. We secure the land, plant, measure, and take each project through validation and verification ourselves, so that the credits we eventually issue carry a chain of evidence we control from the first survey to the registry entry.
Where we are today
No credits exist yet and none are for sale. The pilot is in feasibility, with planting targeted for 2027 and validation under Verra's Verified Carbon Standard planned for 2027–28. We say this plainly because the timeline is the point. Afforestation credits take five to seven years from planting to first issuance, and a developer that promises sooner is not one to trust.
What we are building toward
A repeatable model that provincial partners, corporate buyers, and climate funders can each rely on: documented tenure before planting, native species chosen for survival on each site, permanent measurement plots, satellite monitoring between visits, and an accredited third party checking all of it. Ahad Waseem
Ahad Waseem is a business writer and entrepreneur based in Islamabad. He has worked in business and technology media since 2019 and, since 2022, has been Business Content Manager at Paradise Media, a US digital publisher, where he leads business and finance coverage that appears in partner titles including The Mercury News, the Miami Herald, and The Charlotte Observer. He is the founder of Writers' Order, a content studio, and has previously written for CyberGhost VPN and advised technology startups on brand and communications.
Why this company. He founded Pakistan Carbon Reserve in September 2026 on a straightforward observation. Pakistan has the degraded land, the native species, and the access to climate finance that afforestation projects need. What it has lacked is a developer that measures and verifies to the standard international buyers and funders already expect. The company exists to be that developer.
How the company is built around that. Ahad's background is in business, communication, and company-building rather than forestry science, and the company is structured with that in mind. Technical decisions sit with a specialist advisory board now being appointed, and every carbon claim is designed for independent third-party verification rather than resting on any one person's judgement.
Outside work he is a student of bonsai and keeps a growing collection of trees, a slower way of learning the lesson the company is built on: forests reward patience.

We are appointing advisors in four areas before planting begins. Each role exists because a specific decision in the pilot depends on it. If your expertise fits, we would like to hear from you.
Forestry scientist
Native species selection, survival rates, and site preparation for Punjab's soils and rainfall.
MRV specialist
Remote sensing, inventory design, and experience with Verra's afforestation methodology.
Climate finance lead
Green Climate Fund and multilateral development bank engagement and proposal design.
Land and legal counsel
Tenure, long-term lease structures, and provincial partnerships in Punjab.
Monitoring protocol
Certification covers the credits. This is how we will document the planting itself, on every site, so that anyone checking us finds a record rather than a claim.
Boundary mapping and baseline
A GPS boundary of every planting site, with pre-planting photographs and a soil and vegetation baseline, documented before the first tree goes in.
Permanent sample plots
Fixed-radius inventory plots measured on a set schedule for survival, height, and diameter. These measurements are what the carbon stock estimate is built on.
Photo monitoring points
Geotagged, fixed-position photo points repeated each season, giving a visible time series of every site that buyers and funders can inspect.
Satellite monitoring
Canopy growth and vegetation health tracked between field visits, with anomalies triggering a site check rather than waiting for the next scheduled survey.
Community and livelihood surveys
Regular surveys of local employment, income, and land-partner outcomes, reported alongside the carbon data rather than kept separate from it.
Independent verification
Validation and periodic verification by an accredited third-party body, with monitoring reports shared with buyers and funders on request.
