Institutional-grade project design in a country where climate finance has leverage

This page is for grant-making institutions, climate funds, development finance, and impact investors with a five-to-ten-year horizon. It sets out the case, the phases, the gates, and the risks.

The case

Pakistan is where the need and the finance meet. It is consistently ranked among the world's most climate-vulnerable countries, has forest cover far below the global average, and has tens of millions of hectares of degraded land. Concessional climate finance from the Green Climate Fund, the World Bank, and bilateral programmes is available for exactly this kind of mitigation, and it de-risks development costs that projects elsewhere must self-fund.

Almost nobody is building to an international standard. Large government planting programmes exist. Developers designing from day one for Verra validation, buffer-protected permanence, and buyer-grade transparency are scarce. That gap is the opportunity.

Small first, then gated. The 50-hectare pilot is sized to produce the survival, growth, and cost data that justify scale. Funders back a test with a defined result, not a promise.

Use of funds by phase

What each phase pays for and what it has to deliver before the next one starts.

Phase 1a · 2026

Feasibility

Feasibility study, site scouting in Chakwal and Rajanpur, baseline carbon stock assessment, tenure due diligence, forestry and MRV advisors. Delivers a site, a species plan, and a modelled carbon estimate.

Phase 1b · 2027

Pilot establishment

Land lease or purchase, site preparation, nursery stock, planting, first two seasons of watering and maintenance, permanent monitoring plots, local crew wages. Delivers 50 planted hectares with a monitoring baseline.

Phase 1c · 2027–28

Validation

Project Design Document, validation body fees, registry listing, stakeholder consultation, community benefit plan. Delivers a registry-listed project and the 24-month review at Gate 1.

Phase budgets are set by the feasibility study and shared with funders under a non-disclosure agreement. We do not publish figures we have not yet costed.

Risk and mitigation

The questions a credit committee or grant panel will ask.

Execution risk

A founder-led company at pilot stage. Mitigated by a specialist advisory board, a deliberately small first project, and independent verification of every carbon claim.

Biophysical risk

Survival, drought, fire, grazing. Mitigated by native species, establishment watering, fire breaks, community agreements, and the VCS buffer pool.

Tenure and political risk

Tenure documented for the full crediting period before planting. Engagement with provincial forestry authorities from the feasibility stage.

Market risk

Forward offtake agreements for pilot volumes and a design aligned to the quality tier of the market. Grant funding for the pilot reduces dependence on credit revenue timing.

Measurement risk

Conservative planning assumptions, permanent plots, published equations, and estimates replaced by measurements as they arrive.

Scale risk

Expansion is gated. No expansion capital is committed until the pilot passes its 24-month review and a first issuance is verified.

Funder questions

Are you seeking grants, equity, or debt?

The pilot phase is best suited to grant or concessional funding, because its output is data and a validated design rather than revenue. Expansion phases can support blended or equity structures once the pilot has de-risked the model. We will discuss structure with each funder rather than fix it in advance.

How does this fit GCF or World Bank priorities?

As nature-based mitigation with adaptation co-benefits in a highly climate-vulnerable country, with local employment and land restoration as measurable outcomes. We are structuring reporting to match those frameworks from the start.

What is your track record?

The company was incorporated in September 2026 and has no completed projects. We say that plainly. What we offer instead is a design built for independent verification, a gated plan, and full visibility into the pilot as it runs.

What reporting will we receive?

Quarterly progress reports through the pilot, all monitoring data and verification reports, the 24-month review outcome, and financial reporting to the funder's own template.
